2" Square Operating Nuts for Butterfly Valves
A 2" square operating nut is designed to be installed directly to the valve stem or gear operator shaft, replacing the standard lever handle or handwheel. Additionally, it may be installed to the top of a stem extension. This operating nut permits opening and closing of valves using an industry standard extended T-bar wrench or key. A lever handle operated valve square nut will feature a travel stop beneath the square nut to limit travel to 90 degrees between open and closed positions (valve sizes 1-1/2” – 8”). This type of option is most typically used in below grade, out of physical reach, locations. The 2" square operating nut is an industry standard accessory that can be field installed on all Asahi/America 1/2” – 14” Type-57, 16” Type-56 and 18” – 24” Type-75 lever or gear operated butterfly valves.
